The European Association of Israel Studies (EAIS) invites applications for 4th GRADUATE WORKSHOP. Analysing the challenges of Israel Studies research Monday 14 June 2021, 1.00pm-6.00pm (UTC) (on-line event)

The European Association of Israel Studies (EAIS) is pleased to announce its fourth graduate workshop in Israel Studies, to be held online on Monday 14 June from 1 pm to 6 pm (UTC) time. The workshop seeks graduate students from all academic disciplines whose doctoral dissertations engage with the study of Israel. The workshop looks to provide a forum where students can raise and discuss any methodological, theoretical, practical, and ethical issues arising from their study of Israel. Presenters are encouraged to explain the nature of their research, any relevant hypotheses or research questions, and any proposed methodological and/or theoretical frameworks used.

This year, due to its extraordinary online nature, the workshop will be limited to two 90-minute sessions of student presentations, and one 60-minute session, led by the workshop organisers, that will focus on the ‘career’ side of PhD study. The themes will this year likewise be limited to History (session One) and Politics (session Two).

How to register:

If you are interested in participating, please email (info@israelstudies.eu )-a brief abstract describing your research (maximum 250 words), and which indicates the session you would wish to present in, -along with your CV. If you would like to attend the workshop without giving a presentation, you are still more than welcome, just make this clear in your email.

The event is free to attend by EAIS members. For non-members registration fee is 30 EURO. The deadline for submitting the proposals is April 28th 2021. The notification of acceptance will be sent by May 1st2021. Any additional questions, please feel free to contact the event coordinator:Dr. Magdalena Pycińska: info@israelstudies.euO
