[1] Election was scheduled for April 18, 2019 but was delayed due to protests against long-time incumbent President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who was eventually forced to resign on April 2.

[2] Election were initially scheduled for December 2018 and were later scheduled for early 2019 but have been indefinitely deferred due to the ongoing civil war.     

[3] Term of the current council was renewed by an Emiri Decree on 17 June 2016[3] and it ended on 30 June 2019

[4] The council was reconstituted through a Royal Decree issued on 2 December 2016.
