Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who are in Beijing for the eighth ministerial meeting of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF). Wang Yi asked the Arab countries to deepen strategic cooperation especially through Belt and Road Initiative and to play their due roles in promoting peace and stability in the region and the world. Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan met with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Beijing. Wang, while inviting the Arab states to participate in the Belt and Road Initiative said, “China firmly supports the Arab states to explore a development path that suits them, to realize regional peace, stability, development and prosperity”.
