Moinuddin Ahmad is a New Delhi-based journalist and researcher. He holds a Ph. D., and M.Phil., in West Asian Studies, from Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. His doctoral thesis compares the State and Muslim minorities in India and Israel, and for M.Phil., he studied Ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties and their response to the Arab Israeli peace process. His research interests include Israeli politics and society, Jewish diaspora, political anthropology, religions, Muslim societies, sustainable development and international relations.

He has attended University of Erfurt and University of Vienna to study Islam and Christianity. He holds a Masters (MA) in Comparative Religions from Jamia Millia Islamia and Bachelor’s in Journalism from Delhi University.  He has also studied Conflict Transformation and Peace Building at Delhi University. He has received German Academic Exchange Service fellowship (2009), Austrian Federal Ministry of Science Scholarship (2012) and Konrad Adenauer Fellowship (2013) for his academic engagements in Germany and Austria.

He has been a visiting lecturer at Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, and Mass Communication and Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, where he has taught journalism and international relations. Some of his research work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. As a journalist, he has worked with The Statesman, The Times of India Group and India Today Group on several senior editorial posts.

He was associated with MEI@ND as a Non-Resident Associate until 2020.
