Sreeradha Datta is the Centre Head and Senior Fellow, Neighbourhood Studies, Vivekananda International Foundation, New Delhi She holds a Ph. D., from Jawaharlal Nehru University and her research interests include India’s foreign policy, with emphasis on relations with India’s neighbourhood and South Asian regional security. During September 2011 and July 2017, she the director at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata and earlier she was a was Fellow at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi. Her publications include Caretaking Democracy: Political Process in Bangladesh, 2006-08 (2009, IDSA), Bangladesh: A Fragile Democracy (2004, IDSA and Shipra), The Northeast Complexities and its Determinants (2004, IDSA and Shipra). She also co-edited books, including Bangladesh at 50: Development and Challenges (2020, Orient BlackSwan); Political Economy of India’s North-East Border (2015, Pentagon Press); Changing Security Dynamics in Southeast Asia (2008, Magnum Books). She has contributed to several journals, newspapers and academic websites. She has been a recipient of international fellowships, including at the German Institute of Global Affairs, Distinguished Indian Scholar Series University of Taiwan, the US International Leadership Visitors Programme and was awarded the Shelton Kodikara Award for South Asian Strategic Studies.
