Saad Ahmad received his Ph D degree from Centre for West Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and completed his M Phil., and master’s degrees from Jamia Millia Islamia. He was part of Contending Modernities” a project of the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame and his primary interests are global studies, philosophy and media studies. He is a recipient of DAAD fellowship to visit the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany (2013-2014) and earned a national fellowship for two years (2016-2018) from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). He is fluent in Urdu, Arabic and Persian and also contributes to Urdu periodicals and is working on his book Discourses of Salafism in the Arab World. He can be reached at saadfarouqee@gmail.com
