Editorial Board Member, JIJS. Shalva Weil is Senior Researcher at RIFIE (Research Institute for Innovation in Education) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she researches ethnicities, migration and femicide. She is editor of several books on India’s Jews, including India's Jewish Heritage (Marg, 2002, 2007 & 2009) and co-editor (with David Shulman) of Karmic Passages (OUP, 2008). She has published 100 articles, chapters in books and journals, and encyclopedia entries on the Baghdadi Jews, Bene Israel, Cochin Jews, and the ‘Bnei Menasseh’. Shalva Weil is founding Chairperson of the first Israel-India Friendship Association, established in 1992. In 2017 she was invited to JNU, New Delhi, as GIAN Distinguished Faculty to present a course on Indian Jews.
