4. Iranian Envoy meets Rehman Malik

6. Pakistan to further strengthen ties with Oman: PM

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that Pakistan desired to further strengthen bilateral ties with Oman in all spheres. He made these remarks while talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Oman to Pakistan, who paid a farewell call on him at the PM House here. He said Pakistan and Oman enjoyed close relations and had similar view on regional and international issues.

7. Pakistani, Saudi leadership discuss regional, international situation

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf had an audience with King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and discussed bilateral relations, situation in the region and international issues. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Muhammad Naeem Khan and other officials while Saudi Crown Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz , Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al Faisal, and Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Ibrahim Abdul Aziz  al-Ghadeer and other high officials represented the Saudi side.

9. Saudi minister, ambassador discuss proposals to deepen Pak-Saudi ties

Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia Muhammad Naeem Khan held a meeting with Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industries Dr. Tawfiq bin Fauzan Al-Rabiah and discussed proposals for deepening economic and trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two dignitaries agreed to hold the next round of Joint Ministerial Commission meeting in Islamabad in September this year.

11. Russia, China Veto Resolution on Syria; Pakistan abstains

Russia and China vetoed a Security Council resolution that would have imposed UN sanctions on the Syrian government aimed at pressuring it into implementing a peace plan to halt the 17-month-old conflict in Syria. Pakistan and South Africa abstained on the resolution.

12. UNSC extends Syria observers’ mission; Pakistan helps build consensus on draft

Ambassador to United Arab Emirates Jamil Ahmed Khan paid a surprise inspection visit to the Pakistan embassy’s consular section and monitored the systems in place against any incident of passport identity fraud. The ambassador’s inspection was in view of the recent incident of fraud of computerized identity cards and passports in Lahore.

Pakistan People’s Party leader Bismillah Khan Kakar has said that markets will be established in Baluchistan for boosting trade with Iran.  Talking to VOA, he said that Pakistan and Iran have lot of trade opportunities and markets will increase bilateral trade and job opportunities for peoples of both countries. He said Pakistan is exporting fruits and vegetables to Iran from Quetta.

Governor of Tabuk province of Saudi Arabia, Prince Fahad bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz phoned Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and conveyed his greetings on the advent of Ramadan. He said that Prime Minister’s meeting with his majesty King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz was extremely good and the King considered Pakistan his second home. The Saudi Prince said that King Abdullah would visit Pakistan by the end of this year.
