Prince Ghazi, Chief Adviser to the King for Religious and Cultural Affairs and the Personal Envoy of King Abdullah II, visited the al-Aqsa mosque. He was accompanied by the Grand Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Ali Gomma. The official statement issued at the end of the visit also cited a recent statement by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas where he urged Muslims everywhere to visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque and “revitalize it by filling it with worshipers and pilgrims”.
